Hello! I’m
Jose Segarra, MNA, CAE
Strategic Director & Senior Account Executive
Analytical | Nonprofit Administration Excellence | Governance
I began my nonprofit career in 2000 and I joined Bostrom in January 2019 as an Account Executive. In July of 2022 I was promoted to my current role. I have successfully implemented strategic initiatives and have strong skills in relationship development, governance, and team collaboration. Originally from Puerto Rico, I moved to Chicago in 1998.
My Background
Prior to my role at Bostrom, I had various roles that progressed in responsibility at the American Hospital Association, the American Board of Medical Specialties and the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association. I obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology and communications from Loyola University-Chicago and a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from North Park University. I’ve also earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in 2007 and in 2019 I obtained the Certified Nonprofit Professional designation from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.
Most recently, I served as a board member of Association Forum and was selected as a Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) Scholar (2024-2026). I’m also one of five founders of Association Latinos, a nonprofit dedicated to elevating the profile of Latinos working in association management. In 2025 I received the Chris Mahaffey Inspiring Leader Award.
