Bostrom Gives Back: A Partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities

The Bostrom Gives Back Committee – a group of Bostrom employees dedicated to giving back to our communities – led the company in a YEAR-LONG campaign supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Ronald McDonald Houses (RMH) keep families with sick children together and near the care and resources they need. We partnered up with a local house near each office: the RMH near Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago and the RMH of Washington DC.

Between December 2017 and December 2018, Bostrom employees selflessly gave their time and money in support of this great charity. Here are some highlights:

Year-End Gift Drives: Families staying at the RMH incur significant medical bills which makes holiday or birthday gifts especially difficult to fund. Bostrom employees donated toys, gifts, and gift cards to each house so that the parents can hand select their children’s gifts. These donations have garnered several thousand dollars in support of RMH and its families.

Support and Supplies: Spending long hours at the hospital can be tedious and boring. We helped families pass the time by providing almost 70 Activity Bags for RMH children and adults. We also made 65 Toiletry Bags to help those families who often arrive having had little chance to prepare for their trip.

Cookies from the Heart: In November of 2018, a team of bakers from each office made cookies for the residents at the DC and Chicago houses.
