Human Resources Management
According to operating ratios published by the American Society of Association Executives, the personnel investment for many organizations can represent more than 50 percent of annual revenue.
In addition to being the single largest expense category, employees are the most valuable asset in achieving your association’s mission.
The dynamic nature of the human resource (HR) arena, ranging from compliance issues to benefit programs, can overwhelm your focus. It often seems as if employee management has become the mission.
Bostrom can help you optimize the value of your staff, and redirect your focus, by providing overall human resource administration. Our HR services include recruitment and orientation of new staff, performance evaluations, terminations, personnel communication and staff training.
HR outsourcing agreements often include: collection of time sheets; monitoring vacation days; managing payroll; reviewing and approving bills and invoices related to employee benefits and insurance; managing annual renewal process for employee benefits; and providing HR support for any questions, concerns, or issues that may arise.
In the benefits area, Bostrom provides coordination of pension plans, retiree benefits, flexible spending plans, 5500 filings and necessary testing. We maintain records for transit check programs, tuition reimbursements and can be the liaison with your attorney for staff-related issues including independent contractor issues and SERA agreements. Bostrom can solicit bids, evaluate offerings and negotiate contracts for medical, dental, prescription, life insurance and other employee benefit plans.
We decided to use the services of an association management company (AMC). This allows us flexibility to get particular staff services, at the particular times we need them, as well as access a broader group of people to assist our office work. Bostrom, the AMC we selected, chose Katie Keel to serve as the Executive Director of LLLI. Katie brings enthusiasm and experience to guide our office. In turn, this gives the board time and flexibility to focus on our mission.Constance Pond
