BOSTROM EXECUTIVES TO SPEAK AT ASAE ANNUAL MEETING
AMC professionals provide solutions for association success

CHICAGO, August 9, 2004 – Bostrom Corporation announces that four of its executives will speak at this year’s American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) annual conference and exposition being held in Minneapolis, Aug. 14-17. Bostrom President & CEO Ken Monroe, CFO & General Manager John Dee, Vice President and Senior Consultant Philip Lesser, PhD, CAE and Bostrom Consulting Associates Managing Partner Barton Tretheway will be addressing various issues of special interest to association professionals during the four-day event.

Ken Monroe will be co-presenting with Jonathan Howe, Esq. of Howe & Hutton, Ltd. on Aug. 15 from 2:15-3:45pm in a presentation titled “Surviving in Difficult Times—Outsourcing without Being Out.” This presentation will address those issues that executive management finds itself confronted with on a daily basis as to how to be cost effective but still maintain control.

John Dee will co-facilitate a session on Tuesday, Aug. 17 from 2-3pm titled, “It’s All in the Numbers: How AMCs are More Cost-Efficient than Stand-Alones.” John will lead the group in identifying ways to demonstrate to current and prospective clients the advantages of partnering with an association management company (AMC).

Dr. Lesser will be speaking on Saturday, Aug. 14 from 1-2pm in the AMC 101 session. His presentation, “Business Ethics, Best Practice, Standards & Accreditation Part I,” will focus on essential marketing strategies that go beyond basic sales savvy and public relations to ensure the success of the operation at every level—finances, human resource management, operations, business ethics, board relations, and much more.

Dr. Lesser will also be speaking on Monday, Aug. 16 with Barton Tretheway in a two-part program, “Accelerating Revenues through New Product Success.” In this hands-on workshop participants will craft their own association’s new product/services blueprint, which will serve as a roadmap for generating non-dues revenues. Additionally, the workshop will introduce an eight-step process for developing new products and services. A final workshop focus demonstrates how new products and services can support the organization’s brand.

“ASAE and IAAMC are providing the perfect forum to exchange and share best practices and new ideas with association professionals,” says Company President & CEO Ken Monroe. “Bostrom has a rich history of association management and these interactive sessions are an ideal way to exchange successes and information on new trends.”

With more than 23,000 individual members, ASAE is the largest organization of association executives and industry suppliers in the world. The International Association of Association Management Companies (IAAMC) is a trade organization of 173 AMCs.
