RANDY LINDNER NAMED PRESIDENT OF FARB
Bostrom president elected to BOD of professional licensing organization
CHICAGO, IL February 15, 2005 – Bostrom Corp. announced today that Company President Randy Lindner, CAE, has been elected president of the Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards (FARB). Lindner was elected to FARB’s presidency at its Annual Forum held in Scottsdale, AZ, February 4-6. Lindner is a nationally recognized expert on professional regulation and credentialing, and is actively involved in shaping health care policy.
In addition to serving as president and COO of Bostrom Corp., Lindner currently serves as executive director of the National Association of Boards of Examiners of Long Term Care Administrators (NAB). As executive director Lindner has overseen development of NAB’s Assisted Living Administrators licensure examination, multi-jurisdiction jurisprudence exam program and three job analysis updates of NAB’s Nursing Home Administrators licensure examination. He also managed the transition of all exam programs to web based application, approval and delivery systems.
“I have worked very closely with Randy over the years, and I am delighted to hand over the responsibilities of leadership required for this position,” says Donna DeAngelis, executive director of the Association of Social Work Boards, and outgoing FARB president. “Randy understands the public protection issues of this organization, and I know he will do an excellent job.”
Lindner’s expertise in professional regulation and credentialing includes leadership roles on the board and executive committee of FARB and the Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation (CLEAR) as well as advisory council appointment to the Wertlieb Educational Institute for Long Term Care Management at the George Washington University and the Center for Excellence in Assisted Living (CEAL).
Lindner earned his Master’s degree in health services administration from The George Washington University. He received a B.A. degree from the University of Northern Iowa and earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives in 1993.
FARB provides a forum for cooperation in addressing common issues in the licensing and regulation of professionals. FARB represents the associations of regulatory boards for architecture, nursing, physical therapy, optometry, accountancy, pharmacy, chiropractic, veterinary medicine, long term care administration, cosmetology, social work and funeral service. FARB supports activities to improve professional standards, delivery of services, and performance of regulatory agencies for the protection of the public. It also provides educational opportunities and legal updates for lawyers who represent regulatory boards. FARB also fosters communication and discussion regarding the latest assessment techniques for licensing purposes.
