Illinois Psychiatric Society Taps Bostrom for Full Service Management

CHICAGO – February 6, 2008 – The Illinois Psychiatric Society (IPS), a professional organization representing approximately 1200 physician members trained to treat mental illness, has selected  Bostrom as its comprehensive management partner. IPS is now headquartered in Bostrom’s Chicago office.

As a District Branch of the American Psychiatric Association, IPS has served as the voice of psychiatry in Illinois for more than 60 years.

“Bostrom’s team demonstrated a strong commitment to helping IPS pursue its goals of advocacy for our patients and our profession,” said Dr. Daniel Anzia, IPS president. “Bostrom’s management expertise and resources will provide IPS with outstanding support and innovative flexibility.”

Meryl Camin Sosa will join Bostrom and lead the team as she continues to serve as Executive Director of IPS. Sosa has more than six years in the not-for-profit industry. She was the Manager of Food Safety Programs for a not-for-profit group called Food Animal Concerns Trust where she worked with various federal regulatory agencies, including the FDA and USDA, and Congress on regulations and legislation intended to improve food safety.  Most recently, she worked with Equip for Equality on policy issues related to mental illness and developmental disabilities.

“In addition to enhancing the infrastructure of IPS, we will identify proactive advocacy initiatives to help advance the interests of IPS patients and improve access to psychiatric services throughout Illinois,” said Sosa.

As team lead, Sosa will focus on building a solid platform for growth and success for IPS through marketing initiatives, financial management, strategic planning, and building relationships with other associations.

“Our track record working with healthcare associations makes Bostrom a perfect fit for IPS,” said Randy Lindner, president, Bostrom. “We’re confident that the strong leadership position of IPS and its focused approach to success, coupled with Bostrom’s capabilities, will meet the needs of IPS members and advance its mission.”
